Itinerary
Bada Bing! So far the plan has been made, the flights booked and I am currently infected with several tropical diseases such as Hep A, Hep B, Rabies, Tetanus and Typhoid. As the departure date draws ever near, so the excitement heightens. It seems like only yesterday Fi and I were sitting in the relaxing confines of the GMB during freshers week sipping on warm free beer courtesy of the Phil and discussing possible plans to travel together. Now it is less than 4 months before we set off for Quito. It will be my first time in the southern hemisphere and I will be visiting two destinations I have dreamed of since I was a young child - The Equator and the South Pole. Well technically not the south pole but as south as you can get without being in Antarctica. Suffice to say there will be plenty of ice and penguins. Anyway this will likely be the only blog entry for a while as departure date is 29th December but I thought I would just lay out the itinerary as it stands at the moment.

Friday 29th December - Dublin to Madrid - Depart 06:20, Arrive 09:50
Friday 29th December - Madrid to Quito, Ecuador - Depart 12:10, Arrive 16:10
Spending New Year's eve on the Equator at Ecuador. Childhood dream number 1! Let's hope they have crazy golf. Trekking overland through Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia to Rio De Janeiro for Carnaval before making our own way down to Sao Paolo.

Living the dream in Ushuaia for 5 days - The southernmost city in the world!

Saturday 14th April - Easter Island to Sydney (via Santiago - Bummer!) - Depart12:50, Arrive 07.05
Monday 16th April - Sydney to Melbourne - Depart 10:00, Arrive 11:30
Saturday 21st April - Melbourne to Alice Springs - Depart 08:25, Arrive 10:45
Wednesday 25th April - Alice Springs to Sydney - Depart 13:05, Arrive 16:30
Travelling overland along the Great Barrier Reef up to Brisbane
Friday 11th May - Brisbane to Shanghai (via Sydney) - Depart13:15, Arrive 18:05 (Next day!)
Trekking from Shanghai to Beijing for two weeks
Monday 28th May - Beijing to Hong Kong - Depart 07:50, Arrive 11:20
Friday 1st June - Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh - Depart 07:50, Arrive 11:20
Trekking from Ho Chi Minh to Bangkok via Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand
Tuesday 31st July - Bangkok to Dublin via Heathrow (sniff)
